Planning trips these days has never been this easy, with all the abundance of online information, maps, and dedicated mapping programs, which feature loads of details and features for navigation and whatnot. However, all this can sometimes be quite confusing for the end user, making choosing the right tools for the job, particularly difficult. isimSoftware TripExplorer on the other hand, tries to offer an accessible solution for those seeking a mapping and trip planning app, without having to go to extended lengths in terms of complexity, configuration steps, and more.
Much like similar software that addresses such requirements, isimSoftware TripExplorer also comes equipped with support for several map types, also including satellite imagery. I’ve found this to be quite useful, especially if you’re accustomed to a certain type of map provider, such as OpenStreet Maps for instance.
Furthermore, the provided design is simple, making working with the app and navigation a breeze. This, however, doesn’t negate the abundant functionality that you’ll be able to find tucked away in its menus, addressing a multitude of aspects.
As stated above, the app comes sporting a clean design, but without compromising on essential and even extra functionality. Creating and importing tracks is straightforward, and so is managing individual GPS points.
The included “CrossMapzz” view is especially useful, as it enables you to visualize several map types simultaneously and choose the way in which these are displayed.
This application can prove to be a great choice for exploring the world through maps, planning trips, working with tracks or routes, and getting a better overview of any particular area.
