The Modbus protocol, although introduced many years ago, still remains one of the staples in today’s arsenal of tools whose scope PCL communication and related aspects. There are only a few frame formats that are well-distinguished within the protocol, ASCII, RTU, and TCP.
Designed specifically in order to provide users with specialized means of configuring, editing, and managing Modbus configurations, Modbus Test Master will offer a specialist’s tool for performing simulations and tests on such configurations, for all the frame formats presented in the previous paragraph.
Using the app, one will be able to customize data input, by defining multiple data types, add specific units, and even scaling or comments, if necessary. Multiple instances can be added for the connected devices, for multiple channels, simultaneously.
Regarding the testing process, one will be able to visualize either trends or multiple values, and, if required, have the data traffic disseminated when running a troubleshooting procedure. Users will be able to rely on device profile and specifications to build, document, and demonstrate the test systems, and perform the required monitoring through trends and register lists.
Last but not least, the application provides logging for communication, with filtering and highlighting, as well as the possibility to add comments for individual channels or devices.
