Video analytics has evolved considerably over the past few years and the fact that nowadays you no longer need a robust server and top-notch infrastructure to examine videos stands proof of that.
MotionMap is an application designed to help you identify the zones that get the most motion from both machines and people in any video you capture with your surveillance camera or CCTV.
The setup is quite fast, as it entails decompressing the archive, and you can start mapping the videos as soon as possible. The application comes with a clean and minimalistic interface that only includes a few features, namely add file or folder and save all maps.
As you probably hinted, if you add a folder, the app proceeds to analyze all clips inside and presents the results in a list form. Once it starts analyzing a video, you can view the mapping progressively appearing over the video along with the frames analyzed in the status bar.
The highlight of the application is that it enables you to determine the regions that are most circulated in a room or space. To be more precise, the application uses color codes – blue to red – to highlight and differentiate between the areas that are highly circulated and those that present no interest whatsoever.
On the downside, you should know that you cannot cut videos and thoroughly analyze only sections of the video that you require. In addition, the application does not support a lot of file formats and works with JPG, JPEG, PNG and BMP. Lastly, if you opt to save as bulk, then the application automatically saves the processed footage with the last file format selected.
While it does appear rough around the edges, MotionMap Crack can come in handy when you are trying to figure out general areas of interest, so you can redesign a store or supermarket in a way that would promote sales.
