No matter if you’re trying to produce underground electronic dance music, old school hip-hop, or radio-friendly pop songs, drums are the backbone of your composition. Not only is it important to engineer powerful drum sounds but also to compose catchy patterns that fit the melodies.
Any DAW you work with already has drum sequencing capabilities. But if you want to go deeper into the process, there are plenty of dedicated plugins that offer their own twist on producing digital drums. Today we’re going to take a look at Punch 2, an appropriately named virtual synth from Rob Papen.
If you want your drums to make their presence felt in your mix it’s important to give them a quality that is often referred to as “punchy”, hence the plugin’s name. Nevertheless, this is a tool that seems to live up to its promise by offering multiple methods of creating the beats you need.
Punch 2 has a great variety of presets, each containing many drums and samples which you can assign to the plugin’s 24 pads. These can be individually tweaked through amps, filters, envelopes, and every drum producer’s best friend, a versatile distortion unit. On top of that, you can add up to four effects, including delay, reverb, chorus, flanger, compression, noise-gate, and more distortion.
The plugin’s sequencer is a really useful tool that you can use to program and deliver complex patterns. While it may seem unusual at first, the awkwardness goes away once you realize all the possibilities it offers.
You can program up to four separate grooves and four breaks; these are essentially the same thing but are named differently to help you conceive a song structure. Each groove (or break) can contain up to four tracks, where you don’t only position the drums, but also adjust velocity, panning, and tune. But the best part is that you can actually play more grooves simultaneously using your MIDI controller.
Long story short, Punch 2 Crack is an awesome plugin, and you should use it if you want to enhance your percussions.
Thanks for the serial number for Punch 2
