Recabinet is a comprehensive plugin that packs industry-standard cabinet simulation mixes and samples along with mics in various positions. Considering it is a plugin, it goes without saying that you need to have a suitable VSTĀ host in order to access the extension, although it is compatible with AU and RTAS formats as well.
Although a plugin, it comes with an interface that makes it easy to set up and running in a matter of seconds. Once opened, you can choose between dozens of cabinets and a few vintage combos or switch between dynamic and condenser microphones that can be placed on various positions.
More precisely, you can enjoy 2 cabinet blending and panning, convolution impulse response loader on both channels as well as speaker dynamics modeling. To put it simply, it packs numerous samples so you can experiment as much as you want.
Considering the nature of the samples available, the plugin can come in handy as a replacement for a speaker, such as running a POD into a DAW while the speaker sim is turned off, for instance. Alternatively, it could be used to replace a speaker in a real amp, although unplugging it is not recommended as you can destroy the equipment.
